"Where fragments meet" (Enamel Brooch)
This large brooch is made of facetted enamel pieces set into copper claws. The enamel is a powdered glass that is fused onto the metal in a kiln. The surface is illustrated with trillium flowers that are hand drawn onto the enamel's surface and then re-fired in the kiln. These delicate pencil lines becomes fused into the surface of the enamel, capturing it with the glass.
The brooch's form is bold and large– a colourful reminder of summer fields and the dark waters of the sea.
