GETTING STARTED
We start with a complimentary meeting with our designer, Chayle Bowen, to discuss your dream jewellery. In-person and virtual meeting are available. Our timeline is 3-4 months for custom design projects. Included in that timeline is our production time of 6-8 weeks, once you approve the design. Samples are available to order, to help out-of-town clients choose their ring size, band width, and stone sizes.
Below is our step-by-step custom design journey.
Our meetings are available in-person at our Kanata location, or virtually via Zoom.
During your meeting, Chayle will focus on your style, budget, metal preferences, gemstone preferences, and ring size. It will also be important that your lifestyle is taken into consideration, so that your ring will accommodate your everyday wear.
Use the "Book a Meeting" page to set up an online consultation, or Get in Touch via our contact form and we will go from there.
For custom designs, our designer Chayle Bowen, will first create sketches of design ideas. A variety of design directions will be presented, and you will help to guide what you like best.
Estimates are available at this time, but a more exact quote will be made once the design has been finalized.
Virtual try-ons are also available. This is great for 3D rendered designs that haven't been printed yet. Please send a straight on image of your hand, and we will render the ring onto the image of your hand.
Once you have given the go-ahead for the design direction of your choice, your ring will then be 3D rendered or carved in a wax model.
Some designs are more favorable to be 3D rendered (precise settings or symmetrical designs), whereas others are better to be carved in wax (flowing or natural looking designs).
1st FITTING (optional)
After the model has been made, you have the option to meet for an in-person fitting.
Once you have approved the model (either by viewing images virtually, or by meeting to try on the model), your ring will be ready for casting in the metal of your choice.
At this point, you will be ask to pay a deposit to move forward. It ranges from 30-50% of the total invoice.
Soldering, polishing, finishing. We do our best to take pictures along the way, and keep in touch with you so you can see the process of how it is made.
FITTING (optional) -
If you would like, you can meet for a final fitting of the ring to see it before the stones are set. It also gives you the opportunity to view (and approve) the gemstone you ordered (incase you haven't seen it yet).
Now that the ring is all together and looking perfect, and you have approved the stones, it is time to set them into your ring.
Your piece is finished and ready for pick-up, or shipped to you via Fedex.
Final payment is due when you pick-up, or if you prefer shipping, it is due prior to shipping.

It was a joy to work with Chayle on my ring project. I had an old family ring that I wanted to update and she patiently led me to a design that I was thrilled with. The final ring was beyond my initial hopes and I proudly wear it every day. It was a beautiful thing to help me stay connected to my family and also create a ring that I love! I would highly recommend Chayle’s work for her impeccable craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful interactions.
We cannot thank Chayle enough for her tremendous help and work in creating the perfect engagement ring. Starting from design all the way through to the final product, Chayle was professional, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The ring is even more beautiful than we had expected. We look forward to working with Chayle for our next piece.
We found Chayle whilst looking for my dream engagement ring. Her style is just perfect, we had an online meeting all together to make sure the ring was exactly as I had imagined, this felt so personal and Chayle was lovely to chat it through with. Chayle was professional and prompt in responding to us throughout the process, keeping us updated along the way. I have had my ring for a few weeks now and still can't stop staring at it.
what to expect
Your budget is important to us, and we will help work with you to create a piece that not only considers your aesthetic and lifestyle, but also works for your budget too.
Custom design, on average, costs us more time and labour to produce for you, and is therefore priced higher than choosing one of our designs that is already available. Since we are making something that has never been made before, it takes more time to consider each part of the process and to ensure that it's up to our standards. Your patience and understanding with this will lead to the best outcome for a high quality product. Your invoice will have a break down of labour and materials, so that you can see what you are paying for. If you are supplying materials, like recycled gold, it will be applied as a credit toward your invoice.

We offer options for trying on samples from our wedding collections before purchasing, so you can choose which design you like the best. A complimentary ring sizing kit is included so you can measure your finger size.

A client wanted to recycle a family heirloom wedding band into her own custom wedding band. The goal was to design a ring that would tuck in nicely with her vintage, two-tone (yellow and white gold) engagement ring.Drawing inspiration from my "Laurel" Leaves ring, I scaled up the leaf details...
This project began with a client who brought in a family heirloom—a 0.25ct round natural diamond from a previous ring she no longer wore. To celebrate her daughter's upcoming birthday, we decided to transform this sentimental stone into a contemporary wave band featuring a thick bezel setting. To keep the project...
I love the sentiment behind a family ring. Using gemstones to represent each special person in your family is a lovely way to celebrate them, but traditional family birthstone jewelry designs often lack style, interest, and color harmony. This is where custom design shines.I recently created a custom family ring...

Her: What is the most environmentally friendly diamond option? The controversial truth? While lab-grown diamonds make big claims about being 'green' or tote sustainability, the reality of their production is often using high amounts of coal powered energy, in countries without environmentally governance or safe labour regulations. The lab-grown diamond...
Gold is a valuable material. Recycling and reusing gold is not new to the jewellery industry. Some jewellers don't collect their scraps and filings to be recycled, but this is in the vast minority, as it is a costly habit to have. To recycle gold jewellery, the item must first be...
To calculate the gold weight of a 3D model, you will first need to find the volume of the model. This can be done in Rhino 3D by selecting the closed object and typing in "volume" and then Enter. The software will give you cubic millimeter of the object. With the volume,...
