This client had inherited jewellery from her grandmother and was looking to redesign it into something that she could enjoy wearing daily. The original ring was a diamond cocktail ring, featuring a cluster setting that felt too bulky and heigh for her lifestyle.
The new design that she wanted would be a pinky ring. One for her and one for her mother. Matching picky ring that would remind them of the grandmother, but also would remind them of each other. A lovely sentiment and heart warming story for the next chapter of life of this piece of jewellery.
To capture some of the vintage design elements of the original cocktail ring, I offered to use a 3-claw setting style. This was inspired by the 3-claw setting in the original ring. The profile of the setting was kept low, and the base of the ring was created with a rounded interior for comfortable daily wear.
