I love the sentiment behind a family ring. Using gemstones to represent each special person in your family is a lovely way to celebrate them, but traditional family birthstone jewelry designs often lack style, interest, and color harmony. This is where custom design shines.

I recently created a custom family ring for a mother of two who wanted to use marquise-shaped gemstones because they resemble little leaves. To bring the design together and add a bit more sparkle, I added accent diamonds to create a cluster that appears to grow and sprout from the ring.

Since she also wanted to stack this piece with another band I had previously made for her, I raised the cluster to ensure the two rings fit together perfectly.
